For as long as I remember I have been fanatical about books and reading. As a child the first books I remember reading with any clarity were by Enid Blyton, all her "Famous Five" and "Secret Seven" novels were very exciting for a young person growing up in the 1960's.
After that I moved on to Agatha Christie, as a teenager I always packed three or four of her books when going on vacation.
As I grew older I really enjoyed biographys from sports people, political leaders and actors such as David Niven, his books, "The Moon's A Balloon" and "Bring On The Empty Horses" were so funny I laugh now just thinking about them!
As my desire for self improvement grew I found authors like Anthony Robbins grabbed my attention but then as I got older other things got in my way of reading and the amount of books I read began falling.
I suppose its the same for most people, you get married, have kids and as they are growing up you don't seem to have much time for yourself, the only reading I did at that time were bedtime stories ! I could probably recite "The Hungry Caterpillar" word for word !
Anyway it was a few years ago that I discovered the joys of audio books. Wow what a find, whilst initially you bought them on tape, improvements in technology meant you could soon get them on cd and then a couple of years later you could even download them straight from the internet.
Although not actual reading in the true sense of the word, this now meant I could again enjoy the pleasure of books. I could listen to them any time, any place, any where. It was brilliant and that is why I started my own audio book site.
If you have lost the joy of reading I hope this site rekindles your enthusiasm for books whether it is to be entertained, improve your knowledge or learn a new skill I am sure there will be an audio book for you .
If you are not sure how to download an audio book and burn it to a cd or put it on your mp3 or ipod I have some free videos you can watch here that will help you.
